The Prosperity Project Newsletter issue 1

The Prosperity Project is welcoming the return of warm weather with a sense of invigoration. We have much to celebrate this May, from a growing team, to a successful annual event, to programmatic achievements. As a member of our community, you are the driving force behind everything we do, and we are delighted to share our progress with you.

3rd Anniversary and Honours Event

Last month, we gathered some of our Founding Visionaries, Visionaries, Partners, and Volunteers to celebrate three years of achievements. We shared an evening of heartwarming stories, took in breathtaking views, and talked about the important work that lies ahead. Thank you to CIBC for hosting us in your magnificent new headquarters.

Our Growing Team

We are pleased to introduce new members of The Prosperity Project team. These additions to our small but mighty team, along with the extraordinary women who have been with TPP since year one, are sure to help propel the organization to a bright and prosperous future.

6th Canadian Household Perspectives Released

On May 16th, our sixth nationwide poll of Canadians was released. Coincidentally published during Mental Health Awareness Month, it contains evidence that mental health is a significant factor for workers. In the CHP report, we show startling data about the prevalence of burnout among workers and the threat this poses to the Canadian economy. The results reinforce our position that women consider support and mentorship in the workplace crucial to their professional advancement.

Canadian media outlets are taking notice with numerous television and radio interview requests and published articles including:

  • CTV News Winnepeg
  • CTV News Maritimes
  • Global News Edmonton
  • Chelsea Bird on 630 CHED
  • Canadian HRReporter
  • Vancouver 980 CKNW

Burnout is the new threat to Canada’s economy – especially for women

Accolades for our Founding Visionaries

Two of The Prosperity Project’s Founding Visionaries have been recognized this month. One with a well-deserved appointment and another with a prestigious award. We are never surprised when our Founding Visionaries receive credit for their remarkable achievements, but we are always eager to celebrate the moment. Congratulations!

Founding Visionary Madeleine Paquin was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame. Madeleine is an innovative and celebrated leader who embodies our assertion, “When women succeed, we all prosper.”

Founding Visionary Katie Taylor has been appointed as the 14th Chancellor of York University. The Chancellor holds the University’s top ceremonial position in York’s governance structure and is a member of the Board of Governors.

More to Come

In the months ahead, we look forward to supporting Canadian women through our signature programs, bringing new research to Canadians, forming new partnerships, and continuing to nurture existing alliances. We look forward to sharing this journey with you, Friend. You can find regular updates on social media, on our website, or in the news. And we will continue to provide you with highlights every month. Thank you for being an important part of the work we do here at The Prosperity Project.
